Farmer Food Orders

Welcome to the Farmer Food Order Program! As an active or confirmed member of the cooperative, you may order Organic Valley and Organic Prairie products at a special discount.  You may order any of the products listed on the order form, found by following the link below.  In addition to being able to take advantage of this program, each membership of the cooperative will receive a subsidy to use toward product being shipped UPS. Each member is able to order as much product as they wish; however, please remember that the reselling of Organic Valley or Organic Prairie products is strictly prohibited and is an abuse of this service. CROPP is a marketing cooperative, and product orders are to benefit member families only.

Here's the Farmer Food Order Form.

UPS Shipments

Organic Valley and Organic Prairie products can be shipped to you via UPS. Dairy and meat items do not always ship together. All orders must be placed by 12:00 p.m. CT Wednesday (no exceptions) for delivery the following week. Shipments will arrive late the next week (Thursday or Friday.) If orders are not placed by the Wednesday deadline, it may take two weeks for your products to be delivered.

Proper packaging is required for all UPS shipments. We have sourced lightweight, environmentally-friendly containers to minimize waste. For sanitation purposes, we cannot reuse these containers. All products will be shipped with ice packs to ensure product integrity.

Farmer Food Order Subsidy Program

What is the Farmer Food Order Subsidy?

It is an annual contribution to each active and confirmed membership to assist with UPS shipping cost and packaging materials when ordering dairy or meat products from the CROPP Cooperative warehouse in Cashton, Wisconsin.

What is the value of the subsidy?

It depends on your location, and your distance from the warehouse. The goal is to provide all members equal access to food products. Here is a list of active states with subsidy amounts:

$175.00—AL, AR, CO, DE, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NE, NC, NY, OH, OK, Western PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV, WY

$375.00—AZ, CA, CT, FL, ID, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OR, Eastern PA, RI, UT, VT, WA

New York and Pennsylvania farmers, please note: Subsidy amounts depend on how many days it takes UPS Ground to deliver. For example, if a package takes four days via UPS Ground, a farmer will receive a $375.00 subsidy.

Who receives the subsidy?

Just as there is one vote per membership, there is just one subsidy allotted per membership. Partners, additional family members, and affiliate members are not given additional subsidies?

When can I use my subsidy?

Subsidy is available January 1 and can be used at anytime throughout the year.

Subsidy will be applied unless you specify otherwise. In addition to shipping product for yourself, you may also use your subsidy to ship Organic Valley and Organic Prairie products to others.

Can I use subsidy money to pay for product?

No. Subsidy money can only be used for UPS shipment costs or regional meeting deliveries (see below).

Can I use my subsidy for regional meeting orders?

Yes. To send Organic Prairie products to regional meetings, the warehouse team boxes frozen meat with ice packs, which is an extra cost. You may use your subsidy to pay for those extra packaging costs. Other regional meeting items that don’t require freezer packing are delivered free of charge.

How do I best utilize my subsidy for UPS shipment?

The subsidy can cover shipping for any products on the Organic Valley and Organic Prairie order form. Fluids and meat require more packaging. The weight of these items tends to cost more to ship than butter and cheese products.

What if I don’t use my subsidy?

The subsidy has no cash value and must be used within the calendar year. Every year on January 1, balances are cleared and a new subsidy created. We encourage eligible members to order food and take advantage of this member service.

Regional Meeting Food Delivery

Products are delivered to select areas during CROPP’s spring and fall regional meetings. Larger orders are encouraged. CROPP does not charge a delivery fee for these orders, but does charge for ice packs used to package frozen meat. If you have shipping subsidy available, you may use it towards these charges.

Regional meeting orders require a longer lead time. Information for advance ordering of dairy and meat items will arrive in the mail along with other important meeting details. Please look for an envelope with a colored label on the front that notes “Regional Meeting Information Enclosed.” Regional Meeting orders are filled one to two weeks prior to each meeting. Please understand that some products, like cottage cheese or sour cream, have a short shelf life and therefore large quantities may be difficult to consume in a short period of time.

Annual Meeting

If you attend CROPP’s Annual Meeting in La Crosse, Wisconsin, you may order dairy and meat products to take home with you after the meeting. Notices will be sent with detailed information and deadlines for ordering items a few weeks prior to the meeting.

General Policies

  • All orders must be placed by Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. CT (no exceptions) for the following week delivery or pick up.
  • Holiday orders should be placed at least two full weeks prior to the requested date of delivery. Due to the holidays, limited orders will be shipped the last two weeks of December.
  • Reselling of Organic Valley or Organic Prairie products is strictly prohibited and is an abuse of this service. CROPP is a marketing cooperative and product orders are to benefit member families only.

Billing Information

Dairy and Egg Pool members have their food orders deducted from their checks automatically unless requested otherwise. Members from all other pools will be invoiced and sent a bill via U.S. Mail. Please mail payment when you receive your invoice. Checks should be sent to the address on the invoice. Please note, meat and dairy order payments are sent to separate addresses. If you wish to pay your invoice by credit card, please call the Farmer Hotline, 888.809.9297.

Shipping Protocol

All UPS orders are required to use ice packs and air liners. In the summer, additional ice packs are required. We are unable to reuse ice packs; however, you may reuse them or donate them to a local organization, school, or food pantry.

Dairy Order Shipments

All dairy orders ship from our Cashton Distribution Center.  These items cannot be in transit longer than three days due to food safety concerns. If you are not located within a one-to-three day standard UPS ground shipping location from Cashton, Wisconsin, then you will be required to pay for UPS three-day air shipping.

Meat Order Shipments

All meat orders ship from our Cashton Distribution Center. These items cannot be in transit longer than two days due to food safety concerns. If you are not located within a one- to two-day standard UPS ground shipping location from Cashton, Wisconsin, you will be required to pay for UPS two-day air shipping.

On behalf of the cooperative, we would like to thank all producers for ordering our delicious dairy and meat products. Producing and consuming organic products nurtures our environment.  Together we really do make a difference.
