ResourceThis is a list of the documents containing CROPP's mission statement and foundation principles.
ResourceCROPP's foundation priciples are outline here.
ResourceThe "Y in the Road" is one of CROPP's key foundation principles, described here by George Siemon, CEO.
ResourceGovernance, simply put, is the processes in place to ensure farmer-members remain in control of the direction of their cooperative. Governance provides the necessary framework to guide people, processes, and decisions towards a common purpose, aligning with our cooperative’s purpose and values. Successful governance requires conscious and conscientious effort to safeguard the mission and purpose of the business and the members it represents.
ResourceAs a farmer-owned cooperative, CROPP is committed to leading with farmer voices. This commitment is embedded in the ways we do business, the decisions we make, and the conversations we have with one another at the cooperative every day.
ResourceAs the representatives of the cooperative’s members, the board is accountable for ensuring that the strategic direction of the cooperative aligns with the cooperative’s mission, and the board hires the chief executive officer to move the organization in that direction. Ultimately, the board is accountable for all the activities of the organization. The board’s actions and decisions are proactive rather than reactive. They help prepare the cooperative for the future rather than dwell on the past or present.
